Symptoms

The following setting is set up to false in the service template based on Linux:

Products > Service Templates > Template (Linux) - PPA:
PHP settings management false

Regardless of this, under customer control panel PHP settings are still available for editing. Customers are also able to use custom settings.

Resolution

There are two kinds of PHP settings in Customer Control Panel:

  • Peformance settings
  • Common settings

    1. To disable Common settings you should follow service template > parameters > disable 'PHP settings management'. Afterwards all new subscription will be created with no ability to manage Common PHP settings for customer.

    2. To disable Peformance settings you should follow service template > parameters > disable 'Hosting performance settings management'. Afterwards all new subscription will be created with no ability to manage 'Peformance' PHP settings for customer.

You might disable both of these options to disable PHP settings management at all. In this case Customer will not be able to change PHP settings but still will be able to choose PHP version via Customer control Panel > Websites Tab > Hosting Settings > Web Scripting and Statistics.
