Symptoms

  1. Adding a new Windows-based service node fails with the following error:

Failed to execute command 'cscript /Nologo http_download.js http://MN_private_IP/tarballs/Win32Bin/support.cab'. Check logs in 'c:\POA_Deploy' at host 'SN_IP' for more details about the reasons of failure.

  2. The Plesk Automation (PA) environment is configured behind NAT. PA Management node public IP is 'MN_public_IP' and internal communication IP is 'MN_private_IP'. New service node is configured in another network with public IP 'SN_IP'.

Cause

This error is caused by network connectivity issue.

During new service node deployment PA using communication IP address http://MN_private_IP/tarballs/Win32Bin/support.cab for downloading packages from PA Management node to service node, but required communication IP address MN_private_IP is not accessible from service nodes public network.

Resolution

There are two options to fix this issue:

  1. Make sure that PA Management node communication IP address MN_private_IP is accessible from the service node, for example you can configure VPN connection to archive this goal.

  2. Change communication IP address on PA Management node to another one, which is accessible from public network according this knowledge base article #117412.

Note: in order to change communication IP address successfully, it should physically exist on network interface.

After any of these steps, make sure that all required ports on PA Management node and Windows-based service node are opened and accessible according to another knowledge base article #115202.
