By default, PA 11.5 supports installation of the following mixed roles on a single service node:

  • Apache web server / DNS server - Apache-based web server combined with BIND-based DNS server
  • Apache web server / MySQL database server - Apache-based web server combined with MySQL-based database server
  • Apache web server / Postfix mail server - Apache-based web server combined with Postfix-based mail server
  • Apache web server / Postfix mail server / DNS server - Apache-based web server combined with Postfix-based mail server and BIND-based DNS server
  • Apache web server / Postfix mail server / MySQL database server - Apache-based web server combined with Postfix-based mail server and MySQL-based database server
  • Apache web server / Postfix mail server / MySQL database server / PostgreSQL database server - Apache-based web server combined with Postfix-based mail server, MySQL-based and PostgreSQL-based database servers
  • Apache web server / PostgreSQL database server - Apache-based web server combined with PostgreSQL-based database server
  • IIS web server / MS SQL Server 2008 database server - IIS-based web server combined with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - based database server
  • IIS web server / MS SQL Server 2012 database server - IIS-based web server combined with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - based database server
  • Postfix mail server / DNS server - Postfix-based mail server combined with BIND-based DNS server

Note: Since Plesk Automation update 11.5.18 PA administrator can register MySQL 5.5.

You can install required server role in PA Administration Panel > Infrastructure > Service nodes > Add New Node. For additional information please check Deployment Guide

If you want to install additional roles on already registered service node refer to PA Operation Guide.

Note: it is recommended to have separate service nodes for at least a Mail and Databases servers in case your server handles many customers. Databases as well as Mail services can be consumptive in terms of resources.
