Question

In default configuration reseller staff member with role Account Administrator has full access to provider's reverse DNS zones in Services > Domains > DNS.

Is it possible to prohibit reverse DNS zones management by reseller?

Answer

Operation 'DNS / Manage Reverse DNS' is a part of privilege 'Provisioning Configuration'.

You can consider following way to hide an opportunity to manage provider's reverse DNS zones under reseller:

  1. Go to System > Settings > Security > Privileges > Reseller privileges, find privilege 'Provisioning Configuration'

  2. Press 'Edit' and change level from 'Advanced' to 'Basic' for 'Account Magnet Reseller Role'.

If you click 'Provisioning Configuration' you see list of operations allowed for 'Basic' level. Please verify that there are enough allowed operations at 'Basic' level.

After switching to 'Basic' reseller will not be able to manage provider's reverse DNS zones.

As for the hiding the ability to view reverse DNS zones, it can be reached only by disabling 'Provisioning Configuration' privilege. A request to separate DNS configuration permissions privilege has been submitted as POA-52006.
