Symptoms

No users are able to receive messages and no users can send messages.

It is also not possible to send mail through telnet:

HELO domain.com
250 cp.domain.com Hello cp.domain.com [192.168.0.10]
MAIL FROM: user@domain.com
250 OK
RCPT TO: user@domain.com
550 relay not permitted

Cause

Two mail servers are installed on the server.

Resolution

Check which else mail server is installed:

[root@cp ~]# rpm -qa | grep exim
exim-4.72-4.el6.x86_64

or

[root@cp ~]# rpm -qa | grep postfix
postfix-2.8.14-13040119.x86_64

Also you can check which process LISTENS port 25:

#netstat -plant|grep 25
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4954/exim

As shown above, exim mail-server is used in the example.

Please be advised that H-sphere uses qmail as a mail server only. Parallels H-Sphere 3.6.3 System Administrator Guide -> Mail Package

To fix the issue please perform the following commands:

[root@cp ~]#/etc/init.d/exim stop
[root@cp ~]#chkconfig exim off
[root@cp ~]#/etc/init.d/qmaild restart
