Symptoms

During plan switch to a less expensive plan customer gets refund in plan switch order.

Resolution

It is possible to globally disable refunds generation on plan switch. In order to turn on this functionality:

  1. Execute the following statement in BA database:

    update "Features" set "IsActive"=1 where "FeatureName"='FEA_NoRefundDuringPlanSwitch';

    If 0 rows have been updated by the above query, execute another statement:

    insert into "Features" values ('FEA_NoRefundDuringPlanSwitch', NULL,NULL,1,1,1);

  2. Restart BA.

Note: Functionality is available since BA 5.5 Update 3.

After such change, no refunds will ever be generated on any plan switch operation - even if customer switches to a more expensive plan, no refund will be issued for the original plan. Change is system-wide only.

In order to turn off this functionality:

  1. Execute the following statement in BA database:

    update "Features" set "IsActive"=0 where "FeatureName"='FEA_NoRefundDuringPlanSwitch';

  2. Restart BA.
