Parallels Cloud Server command line tools are missing after installation of CS/MDS role

Parallels Cloud Server command line tools and services are missing after the installation of a PCS host only with a "Chunk Server" or "Metadata Server" role.

If a server is installed only with a CS/MDS role (no Client Role), it is not expected to host containers/VMs.

Parallels Cloud Storage roles do not provide any PCS-related tools and services.

When it is necessary to turn a server into a fully functional client server, install the necessary packages via yum:

# yum groupinstall "Parallels Containers" "Parallels Hypervisor" "Parallels High Availability"

To learn more about these groups and the packages they contain, check their Group Info:

# yum groupinfo "Parallels Containers"
# yum groupinfo "Parallels Hypervisor"
# yum groupinfo "Parallels High Availability"

After that start parallels-server service:

# service parallels-server start
