Dependences and Pre-Requisites

The Hosted BroadWorks Application Package requires:

- POA 5.5.8 or higher
- PBA 5.4.4 or higher
- BroadSoft BroadWorks version 20 SP1 or higher

Fixed Issues

APSA-9348 We have to add an ability to hide Call Reports as it cannot work for some markets.

Obtaining

To obtain the current version or updates of the Hosted BroadWorks Application Package, contact your Parallels representative.

Installation

To install the Hosted BroadWorks Application, use the instructions provided in the PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide.

Upgrade Procedure

Important: Make sure the source version of the Hosted BroadWorks Application is 3.2. Upgrades from other versions are not allowed.

The upgrade procedure consists of the following steps:

  1. Preparing necessary information for the upgrade.
  2. Upgrading the Web-based Management Service.
  3. Upgrading the Hosted BroadWorks Application.
  4. Performing additional upgrade steps.
Important:
1. The upgrade procedure is not reversible.
2. All these upgrade steps are mandatory.

To upgrade an existing installation of the Hosted BroadWorks Application, perform the following actions:
  1. Prepare the following necessary information:
    1. The auto-configuration URLs, download URLs, and Identity/Device Profile Types for BroadTouch Business Communicator Desktop/Mobile. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Preparing BroadWorks System for details.
    2. Your Service Provider ID and the Identity/Device Profile Types for Polycom® VVX® 300/310/400/410 Business Media Phones. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Preparing BroadWorks System for details.
  2. Upgrade the Web-based Management Service:
    1. Place the HostedBroadWorks.Web.Install.exe file on the host running the Web-based Management Service.
    2. Run the HostedBroadWorks.Web.Install.exe file and follow the Wizard.
    3. On the Hosted BroadWorks Web Business Communicator Connections screen, specify the Business Communicator Desktop Connection URL and Business Communicator Mobile Connection URL parameters.     4. On the Hosted BroadWorks Web Business Communicator Downloads screen, specify the The list of download links for Windows, The list of download links for Mac, The list of download links for iOS, and The list of download links for Android parameters. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Deploying Web-based Management Service > Installing Web-based Management Service for details.
    5. On the Hosted BroadWorks Web Application Settings screen, specify the prepared Service Provide ID. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Deploying Web-based Management Service > Installing Web-based Management Service for details.
    6. Complete passing the Wizard.
  3. Upgrade the Hosted BroadWorks Application:
    1. Import the Hosted BroadWorks Application Package to PA. See POA Provider's Guide >> Application Hosting > Managing Applications > Importing Application for details.
    2. Upgrade existing Hosted BroadWorks Application instances. See POA Provider's Guide >> Application Hosting > Bulk Application Upgrades for details.
  4. Perform the following additional upgrade steps:
    1. Configure the 'Unified Messaging' functionality:
    2. - Specify the Video Conferencing Help URL general parameter of the Hosted PBX Resource Type. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Creating BroadWorks Resource Types > Creating 'Hosted PBX' Resource Type > Specifying General Parameters for details.
    3. - Specify the settings of the 'User > Unified Communications' Application Service in the Hosted PBX Resource Type. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Creating BroadWorks Resource Types > Creating 'Hosted PBX' Resource Type > Configuring Application Services for details.
    4. - Specify the settings of the 'User > Unified Communications' Application Service in the 'Hosted PBX User' Resource Types. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Creating BroadWorks Resource Types > Creating 'Hosted PBX User' Resource Types for details.
    5. - Create Resource Types for the Unified Communications service.     7. Configure the 'New Means of IP Phone Auto-configuration' functionality:
    8. - Create Resource Types for Polycom® VVX® 300/310/400/410 Business Media Phones.     11. Specify the Forbidden Numbers general parameter of the Hosted PBX Resource Type. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Creating BroadWorks Resource Types > Creating 'Hosted PBX' Resource Type > Specifying General Parameters for details.
    12. In Provider Control Panel, apply your changes of the general parameters of the Hosted PBX Resource Type using the Apply to instances button.
