Symptoms

Diskspace usage shown in OA CCP for a Qmail mailbox does not match actual size of mailbox directory on qmail server.

Cause

Task to update disk usage is not executed or fails.

Resolution

OA does not update disk space usage information on Qmail accounts on the fly - it does it periodically:

  • In OA task manager there is a periodic task Monitor mail diskspace usage collectors
  • This periodic task schedules regular tasks called Collect mail diskspace usage on configuration <ID>
  • These regular tasks are responsible for collecting usage details from qmail servers and updating them in OA.

As such the following should be checked:

  1. Make sure periodic task Monitor mail diskspace usage collectors exists, is configured to run with acceptable period (by default it should be executed each minute). If task is stuck in running for more than 5-7 hours - most likely task manager is stuck and the only way to fix it is to restart OA core service. If the task in cancelled state, please re-run it and check the disk usage after that.

  2. If all is fine with periodic task - search for regular tasks Collect mail diskspace usage on configuration #ID. If they fail for any reason - it should be fixed. Please refer to KB #2246 for tips
