Symptoms

As Provider I want to configure PBA Service Plan to sell several resources in a bundle, so that customer would not need to purchase all the resources separately (with chances that some required resources will be missing), but rather only need to choose a certain pack including all the necessary resources.

Resolution

Use Composite Resources to achieve the desired configuration. Refer to the PBA Provider's Guide for more details:

The good example of composite resource is Hosted Exchange mailbox with required types of access (Outlook/POP3/IMAP) and diskspace. E.g. Provider may create composite resource with the following resources included:

  • Exchange mailbox - 1
  • Outlook Access - 1
  • Outlook Web Access - 1
  • Diskspace - 1 GB

When customer purchases 1 unit of such resource they will get Exchange mailbox in POA with 1 GB of diskspace for email and with Outlook and OWA access to the mailbox. So, in this case customer must not purchase all the resources required for the proper mailbox functioning separately, they will get everything just in one click.

Also, Provider may include more that 1 unit of POA resources and sell bundles of 5, 10 or 50 mailboxes with proper amount of diskspace and types of access to the mailbox.

Of course, all the resources included into the Composite Resource in PBA must be present in the corresponding Service Template in POA.
