You want to change mail/database web interfaces to CGI or FCGI mode instead of lib_php.

Customize lsrv.conf template and add the following configuration part to each VirtualHost just below existing “IfModule” sections. For more information on template customization please refer to the “Appendix C. Customizing Server Configuration Files By Means of Templates” of the “Parallels H-Sphere Upgrade Guide” for your particular Parallels H-Sphere version (

# php*Admin, Horde PHP settings BEGIN
<IfModule mod_mime.c>
<IfModule mod_actions.c>
<IfModule mod_cgi.c>
AddHandler hs-php5-script .php
AddHandler hs-php5-script .php3
AddHandler hs-php5-script .phps
AddHandler hs-php5-script .php5
Action hs-php5-script /php5bin/php
<Directory /hsphere/shared/php5/bin>
# use FastCGI if available, fallback to CGI
<IfModule mod_fastcgi.c>
SetHandler fastcgi-script
<IfModule !mod_fastcgi.c>
SetHandler cgi-script
# php*Admin, Horde PHP settings END

You may want to use PHP 5.3 instead of PHP 5.2 for Parallels H-Sphere 3.6.0 and above. In this case simply change all “php5” occurrences to “php53” in the above configuration part.
