A customer created Exchange Resource Mailbox in POA Customer Control Panel.

When sending recurring meeting requests in Exchange, if any of the instances conflict with other appointments, the entire recurring series is declined, rather than just those that conflict.

Such Exchange behavior is controlled by resource policy configured for room mailbox, POA-managed Hosted Exchange mailbox has the following policy configured:

The main points:

  • The "Allow conflicting meeting requests" parameter is disabled
  • The "Maximum conflict instances" and "Conflict percentage allowed" parameters are set to 0.

The configuration above means that conflicts for resource mailboxes provisioned in POA are not allowed. The customer would like to allow conflicts for a specific resource mailbox.


POA does not allow to configure conflicting settings for a Resource Mailbox in Customer Control Panel.

It is only possible to change parameters such as 'Allow conflicting meeting requests', 'Maximum conflict instances' or 'Conflict percentage allowed' directly in Exchange, either using the Exchange Management Console (EMC) or Exchange Management Shell (EMS).
