Symptoms

Provisioning for an order in PBA fails with the following error message from POA:

Parallels Operations Automation error #error_code #2006, extype_id #221, module_id #ResourceManagement, Subscription <Subscription ID> has no resource type <Recource ID>

(where Subscription ID is the ID of the subscription and Resource ID is the ID of some POA-based resource)

The order may be a sales, upgrade, or renewal order.

Cause

PBA is trying to provide a resource that does not exist in the POA subscription and that the corresponding POA Service Template the subscription is based on. POA cannot find the resource in the subscription or Service Template the subscription is based on and throws the error message.

Resolution

You should either remove the resource from the PBA Service Plan's resource rates or add it to the POA subscription or Service Template.

To remove the resource from the PBA Service Plan, do the following:

  • Open the service plan in PBA at Product Director > Plan Manager > Service Plans.

  • Select the Resource Rates tab.

  • Locate the resource that is causing the issue using the resource ID from the error above.

  • Remove the resource.

Important: If you have composite resources that contain POA resource(s) causing the error, these will not be displayed in the list of resource rates. You will have to click the composite resource and check the Included resources tab of that resource to locate the POA resource that is part of the composite resource.

To add a resource to the POA subscription, it will first have to be added to the subscription's Service Template.

You will need to find the POA Service Template the subscription is based on and follow the steps described in the Editing Resources and Limits for Service Template chapter of the POA documentation: Editing Resources and Limits for Service Template

Note that it will affect all subscriptions based on the Service Template.

When the resource has been added to the POA Service Template, it is necessary to synchronize the subscription to add the resource to it. This can be done in the PBA Control Panel using the steps below:

  • Open the Service Template the subscription is based on in the PBA Provider CP.

  • Switch to the Resources tab.

  • Click on the resource you added to the Service Template in POA.

  • Click the Synchronize button.

The newly added resource will be added to all subscriptions in POA. After that, resubmit the failed order for provisioning in PBA.
