Symptoms

When attempting to add a new credit card to an account, it fails with the error message:
This payment method is already present in the system

Cause

This message appears in PBAS in two cases:
  • This credit card is already registered to the same account.
  • This credit card belongs to another account and credit card status is Disabled.
The same credit card can be added to multiple accounts if it is not disabled on any different account. This is implemented this way to provide some kind of blacklist, so that once the card gets Disabled anywhere in the system (even once) it is deemed as "not trusted" and cannot be added to other accounts in the future.

Resolution

Find this credit card and either delete or change its status:

PBAS Provider CP > Commerce Director > Online Payments > Credit Cards
