VPS diskspace shows overusage in subscription resources in both Provider and Customer Control Panels, see screenshot below:
At the same time usage of the resource 1000593 VPS Backup diskspace is 0.
Also, real usage of diskspace in VPS is far away from being overused.
The resource 1000592 VPS backup is configured to account diskspace consumed by backups into the main diskspace resource 1000005 Diskspace. So, POA adds total diskspace of all backups of a customer's VPS to the diskpace usage allocated for VPS (it is always equal to the diskspace limit set for a subscription) and as a result overusage occurs.
See the Knowledgebase article 114714 VPS disk space usage is always equal to limit in Control Panel for more details about diskspace accounting for VPS in POA.
The VPS Backup resource created based on the resource class VPS Backup management has special activation parameter Resource Type to account disk space used for backups. If it is set to the Default value, then diskspace consumed by customer VPS backups will be accounted into sub-resource VPS Backup diskspace of the resource VPS Backup. In the example above the activation parameter Resource Type to account disk space used for backups is configured to account diskspace consumed by backups to the resource 1000005 Diskspace.
Follow the steps below to configure POA to account VPS backups diskspace to the sub-resource of the VPS Backup resource instead of the main diskspace resource included into subscription.
Modify the activation parameter Resource Type to account disk space used for backups in the VPS backup resource, set it to the Default value.
Also, set the desired limit for the total VPS backups diskspace in POA Service Template. Optionally, create resource rate in PBA for the sub-resource VPS Backup diskspace to sell diskspace for VPS backups additionally to the main diskspace quota.
Diskspace of all backups created after activation parameter was modified will be accounted into sub-resource of the VPS Backup resource.
To get rid of overusage for the existing subscriptions customer has to remove backups whose diskspace was accounted into the main diskspace resource and create new backup(s), they will be accounted into the sub-resource VPS Backup diskspace of the VPS Backup resource included into their subscription.
