  • Applies to:
  • H-Sphere

Symptoms

Output of the
du -h -c –s /hsphere/local/home/%username%
command is not equal to the disk usage reported in H-Sphere.

Cause

Some files belong to the user but are not located in its home directory.

Resolution

Build the list of files belonging to the problem user:

find / -user %username% -ls > files.txt
cat files.txt | awk '{s = s + $7} END {print s/1048576 " MB"}'

You will get the value which is close to the one reported by H-Sphere. After checking the files.txt file you will find that some files belong to the user but are not located in its home directory. Either change their ownership or move them to the home directory of the user.
