Dependencies and Pre-Requisites

The Microsoft Lync 2010 and Lync Phone Numbers Application Packages require Parallels Operation Automation (POA) 5.4.2 or a later version.

Functional Changes

Lync Telephone Numbers Are Propagated to Active Directory

Starting from Lync Server 2010 Integration 1.2, the phone number assigned to a service user is propagated to the AD property. The following behaviour is implemented:
When customers assign the phone number to a service user, this number will be propagated to the telephone number property of the corresponding user in the Active Directory. In case this property already contained some other value, it will be overwritten. On changing one phone number to another, the telephone number property of the user in AD will be updated accordingly. At revoking the phone number, the corresponding property in AD will be cleared.

New Languages Are Supported

Starting from Lync Server 2010 Integration 1.2, the following languages are supported for the Microsoft Lync 2010 and Lync Phone Numbers Applications: German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese.

Fixed Issues

APS-10077 If Lync application instance is uninstalled or Lync subscription is removed, phone numbers are not released.
APS-10071 Lync configuration task fails when account with user is removed.

Upgrade Procedure

We strongly recommend that all providers and resellers perform the bulk upgrade of both Application Packages for all their customers with Lync Server 2010 integration from version 1.1 to the latest 1.2 version. If you are not going to upgrade the Lync subscribers right after importing the packages, make sure they are disabled for the customers' installation.

To upgrade the Microsoft Lync 2010 Application, perform the following steps:

  1. Import the Microsoft Lync 2010 and Lync Phone Numbers Application Packages to POA. See POA Provider's Guide >> Application Hosting > Managing Applications > Importing Application for details.
  2. Upgrade existing Microsoft Lync 2010 and Lync Phone Numbers Application instances. See POA Provider's Guide >> Application Hosting > Bulk Application Upgrades for details.
Important: The Lync Phone Numbers Application instance should be upgraded first.
