Apache NG modules were created to make Apache to be able to do the following:

  • Find corresponding webspace by domain name
  • Get webspace limits
  • Apply limits to corresponding LVE (CloudLinux Light-Weight Virtual Environment)

Customized Apache modules shipped with POA are the following ones:

  • h2e_vhosts
  • h2e_logs
  • h2e_cgi
  • h2e_dir_walk

Most options managed in POA Customer Control Panel (PHP, CGI, SSL, Webalizer support) are implemented using Apache configuration aliases which are retrieved from Configuration Database by caching service and later used by the h2e_vhosts Apache module. Enabling or disabling CGI, SSI, WAP are also implemented in h2e_vhosts module. During Configuration Database synchronization settings are collected and stored in the v_apache_h2e_websites table in Configuration Database.

Also NG Apache module loads SSL certificates on demand – once incoming HTTPS request processing is started. Certificate path is stored in Configuration Database along with other configuration data of a website.
