Monitor failed e-transactionsE-transaction is an online credit card processing transaction - pre-authorization, capture, refund and so on. There are two ways of charging credit cards in PBA:
- To pre-authorize and capture money in one transaction, transaction type Sell
- To pre-authorize and capture money in two separate transactions, transactions type Auth and Capture respectively
If e-transaction failed it means customer cannot pay their order and Provider did not receive money, so it is crucial for Provider to monitor failed e-transactions.
The list of all e-transactions processed by PBA can be accessed in Provider Control Panel at Operation Director > E-Commerce Manager > E-Transactions. Filter transactions by status Error, Communication error or Fraud. Click on any problem transaction to see reason of failure. Carefully analyze any error message which PBA may receive from credit card processing center.
E.g. PBA may say about problem with connecting to the processing center. Check if PBA Management Node may resolve hostname of processing center to IP address and verify that PBA Management Node may connect to the needed port (usually configured in payment plug-in properties) of the processing center server.
Also, PBA cannot process credit card payments if encryption key is not loaded properly, in this case the error message in a failed e-transaction will say Could not process payment data because PBA cannot decrypt saved credit card data. Load encryption key in PBA following instructions in the Provider Guide > Managing Payment Processing > Configuring Encryption Keys > Loading Private Key.
