How to re-subscribe Edge Transport Server in Exchange 2007:

1. Remove old Edge Subscription
  • Go to the Hub Transport server
  • Run Exchange Management Console (EMC)
  • Under Organization Configuration click the Edge Subscriptions tab
  • Right click the current Edge Subscription and click Remove

2. Create new Edge subscription
  • Go to the Edge server
  • Open the Exchange Management Shell
  • Run the command: New-EdgeSubscription -FileName "C:\EdgeSubscriptionInfo.xml"

As a result Edge Subscription file will be created as C:\EdgeSubscriptionInfo.xml.

Note: You cannot use the EMC to export an Edge Subscription file.

3. Copy C:\EdgeSubscriptionInfo.xml file from Edge server to the Hub Transport server

4. Install the new Edge subscription file
  • Go to Hub Transport server
  • Run Exchange Management Console
  • Under Organization Configuration click the Edge Subscriptions tab.
  • Under the Actions Panel click "New Edge Subscription..."
  • Browse to the location of the new .xml file and click Next.

5. Run Edge Synchronization
  • Go to the Hub Transport server
  • Run the Exchange Management Shell
  • Run the Edge Synchronization by typing Start-EdgeSynchronization
If it fails run Test-EdgeSynchronization in the Exchange Management Shell to see reasons of failure.
