Cause

Customer has created an Exchange mailbox using the existing template. Customer wants to change the template for the existing mailbox in the OA Customer Control Panel, but cannot do this due to the following error:

Mailbox size limit exceeds maximum allowed size.

Cause

The reason for this problem is an incorrect configuration of the Service Template that the problem subscription is based on. The mailbox size as defined in the target mailbox template exceeds the value of the parameter Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size defined in the Hosted Exchange resource included in the Service Template. It should be noted that the resource Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size in both the service template and subscription resource should either have a higher or same limit as of exchange mailbox template associated with it and applying limit will fail if the subscription does not have enough resources.

Resolution

There are two ways to solve the problem:

  • Decrease the mailbox size in the mailbox template so that it is equal to or less than the value of the parameter Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size defined in the Hosted Exchange Service Template resource

  • Increase the value of the parameter Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size in the Hosted Exchange Service Template resource so that it is equal to or greater than the mailbox size as defined in the mailbox template.

After the corresponding values are adjusted, it is necessary to synchronize the changes with the existing subscription(s). Do this from the BA control panel:

  1. If the service plan associated with the subscriptions has no resource rate added for resource Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size in the service plan, then do the following:

    • Go to Products > Service Plans > Service Templates.
    • Click on the appropriate Service Template.
    • Go to the Resources tab.
    • Click on the adjusted resource.
    • Click the Synchronize button.
    • On the next screen, select the desired subscription synchronization options.
    • Click the Synchronize button.
  2. If the service plan associated with the subscriptions has resource rate added for the resource Maximum Allowed Mailbox Size in the service plan, then go to Products > Service Plans > service_plan_name > Resource rates, update the limits for the required resource(s) there and click Synchronize.
