SymptomsYou are unable to add an MX record with a mail exchange host name that starts with a digit. If you try to specify a domain name that starts with a digit in the "Mail Exchanger" field, the following error is displayed:
"Error: Mail exchanger host name must contain latin characters, digits, hyphens and points only. It should be valid domain name."
CauseThe domain name validation for this field is based on RFC1035. This specifies that a domain name can only start with a letter (2.3.1, Preferred name syntax).
ResolutionEnable the Allow using of IP address in MX records POA system property found at Top > System Director > Configuration Manager > System Properties. This will disable such validation system-wide and allow you to add a mail exchange host name that starts with a digit.
Related functionality will be adjusted in future POA versions.
