Symptoms

Customer has subscription with IIS webspace and they created IIS website(s) in their webspace.

If customer subscription has FTP access to IIS webspace (sub-resource FTP access of the resource Physical Hosting (IIS)) and auto-provisioning is enabled in POA Service Template then during IIS webspace creating POA automatically creates FTP user which will have access to webspace.

Customer wants to create new users with FTP access to IIS website.

Resolution

Customer has to log into their POA Customer Control Panel and perform the following actions:

For POA 5.3:

  • Go to Hosting > Configuration & Administration > Service Users
  • Click the button Add New Service User
  • Enter desired login and password
  • Check box IIS Website Management in the section Services
  • Click the button Next
  • On the next screen customer has to select website to which FTP access will be enabled for the new service user
  • Click the button Next
  • Check properties of new service user on the next screen
  • Click the button Finish

For POA 5.5:

  • Go to the Users tab
  • Click the button Add New Service User
  • Enter desired login and password
  • Check box IIS Website Management in the section Services
  • Click the button Next
  • On the next screen customer has to select website to which FTP access will be enabled for the new service user
  • Click the button Next
  • Check properties of new service user on the next screen
  • Click the button Finish

For POA 6.0:

  • Go to the Users tab
  • Click the button Add New Service User
  • Enter desired login and password
  • Check box IIS Website Management in the section Services and choose subscription in drop-down list
  • Click the button Next
  • On the next screen customer has to select website to which FTP access will be enabled for the new service user
  • Click the button Next
  • Check properties of new service user on the next screen
  • Click the button Finish

As a result new service user will be created and it will have FTP access to selected IIS website.

Note: to be able to create service user with FTP access to website customer must have available units of resource FTP access in their subscription.
