There are several Windows-based servers. Each server was deployed from one Windows OS image. The Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service cannot communicate or start transactions with other servers. There are a lot of entries related to MSDTC in the Event Log.

The MSDTC service uses a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) in the registry to uniquely identify the server. If you deploy Windows OS from OS image (and even if you run sysprep), this GUID is not changed. You may encounter issues with MSDTC service running between two servers.

Perfrom the following actions on each server:

1. Log on to the server as Administrator.
2. Execute the msdtc -uninstall command.
3. Execute the msdtc -install command.

Note: The same problem appears on the cloned VMware Virtual Machines.
