The `time_slice` command of the logAnalyzer utility (see the Knowledgebase article 9268 - Log analyzer for PBA-E 5.x version for more details) extracts parts of the required logs during the specified period of time and puts them in a separate folder. This command may be useful while investigating PBA crash issues to review activity which preceded and followed the crash moment. It is usually used in conjunction with -t option. See below the practical examples of using this command.

PBA for Linux – extract BM and www containers' logs from 10:00 till 12:00:

PBA 5.1: # cd ~bm/tools/LogAnalyzer
# ./ -t "12-08-28 10:00:00" -c BM,www "time_slice" 2h

PBA 5.4: # cd ~bm/tools/LogAnalyzer
# ./ -t "12-08-28 10:00:00@2h" -c BM,www "time_slice"

PBA for Windows – extract BM, www and PEMGATE containers’ logs from 03:00 till 06:00:

PBA 5.1: C:\> perl.exe D:\PBA\tools\LogAnalyzer\ -t "12-08-28 03:00:00" -c BM,www,PEMGATE time_slice 3h
PBA 5.4: C:\> perl.exe D:\PBA\tools\LogAnalyzer\ -t "12-08-28 03:00:00@3h" -c BM,www,PEMGATE time_slice
