Symptoms

POA tasks provisioned through MPS (Microsoft Provisioning System) fail, existing logs do not shed light on the reason of the problem.

Provider wants to enable verbose logging on the MPS server to collect more information for troubleshooting.

Resolution

POA 5.4

1. Locate the SWsoft.PEM.API.MPF.Provider.dll.config file on MPS server at the 'C:\Program Files\SWsoft\PEM\MPF Providers' directory.

2. Change <log_level>Warning</log_level> to <log_level>Debug</log_level> in the file

3.  Restart MPS engine as described in the KB article https://kb.odin.com/en/1851

Note: you can set the log directory where debug logs will be saved by adding the <base directory> tag. Otherwise, log will be stored in the default folder: C:\Documents and Settings\mpfserviceacct\Local Settings\Temp\PEM\MPF\DD-MM-YYYY.log
Important: disable verbose logging after you finished troubleshooting the problem.

POA 5.5

<add switchValue="Verbose,Information,ActivityTracing" name="POA MPF Provisioning Engine">
