A customer created mail sending form in Frontpage and published it. When trying to fill this form and click Submit they get a page with the following error message:
Frontpage error, view application log for more details.

Find corresponding website (its root domain) in IIS and open its properties. Then go to the 'Server Extensions 2002' tab, click 'Settings'.

In the opened window, when asked for login and password, enter  domain admin's username and password.

Then, look at the 'SMTP mail server' field. It usually contains something like ''. Maybe it is a working mail server in general, however sometimes Frontpage sends mail successfully only through the local mail server. So, you should change the 'SMTP mail server' parameter to '' and press 'Submit' button at the bottom of the window.

After that sending mail through Frontpage form should work.

If it is still does not work do the following:

In the IIS Manager go to 'PEM local SMTP server', enter its properties, go to 'Delivery' tab, click 'Advanced' and look at the smart host field.

It should contain some mail server's name which should be accessible from this Windows server. Usually, it contains something like "". Check if it is accessible from Windows server, e.g. use the telnet utility - type the command in the cmd tool:
telnet 25
Check the result of the command above and resolve the problem with connectivity to mail server if any.
